Rangee Firmware- and Softwareupdate

There are different ways to update RangeeOS:
- Update the Client via Rangee Update-Server
- Update from TCMS-Repository
- Updates from internal FTP-/HTTP-Server
- Update via USB-Stick
- Buddy Update
Update the Client via Rangee Update-Server
- Open Software-Update in the Kommbox of the Client
- Click on "Update-Server settings" and put in the following information (You'll get [ USERNAME ]/[ PASSWORD ] from our support team [support@rangee.com])
- Protocol: HTTP or HTTPS
- Server: update.rangee.com
- Path: [ USERNAME ]
- Username: [ USERNAME ]
- Password: [ PASSWORD ]
- Click on "Apply"
- Now you'll be able to install the packages, which are assigned to your user
Update from TCMS-Repository
- Configure Repository
- Download Firm-/Software to the TCMS:
- Update the client
- Open the Software-Update in the Kommbox of the Client
- Click on "Update-Server settings" and put in the following information
- Protocol: HTTP
- Server: [ TCMS_IP/HOSTNAME ]
- Path: /repository/
- Username: not needed
- Password: not needed
- Click on apply
- Now you'll be able to install the packages, which are available on the TCMS
Updates from internal FTP-/HTTP-Server
- Create a directory on the FTP/HTTP-Server
- Create the following structure
- [ DIRECTORY ]/firmware
- [ DIRECTORY ]/software
- Download the Firm-/Software packages from our Updateserver
- Open http://update.rangee.com/[USERNAME]
- Type in the login data
- Click on the floppy symbol to download the package (the download will start a few seconds after the click)
- Extract the downloaded files to the created directory:
- Open the Software-Update in the Kommbox of the Client
- Click on "Update-Server settings" and put in the following information
- Protocol: HTTP,HTTPS oder FTP
- Server: [ Server-Address ]
- Path: [ PATH_TO_THE_UPDATE_SERVER_DIRECTORY ]
- Username: put in, if needed
- Password: put in, if needed
- Click on "Apply"
- Now you'll be able to install the packages which are available on the Update-Server
Update via USB-Stick
- Format the USB-Stick as FAT32
- Create the following structure
- [ ROOT ]/firmware
- [ ROOT ]/software
- Download the Firm-/Software packages from our Updateserver
- Open http://update.rangee.com/[USERNAME]
- Type in the login data
- Click on the floppy symbol to download the package (the download will start a few seconds after the click)
- Extract the downloaded files to the USB-Stick
- Plug the USB-Stick into the client
- Open the Software-Update in the Kommbox of the Client
- Click on "Update-Server settings" and put in the following information
- Protocol: USB
- Server: not needed
- Path: not needed
- Username: not needed
- Password: not needed
- Click on "Apply"
- Now you'll be able to install the packages which are available on the USB-Stick
Buddy Update
Thin Client can also be use as Update-Server.
Source Thin Client
- Open the Software-Update in the Kommbox of the Client
- Click on "Update-Server settings"
- Activate "Act as Update server::"
- Yes: Act as Update-Server
- Yes, propagate: Trägt sich beim ziehen der Konfiguration in das TCMS als Update-Server in die Gruppenkoniguration ein
- Restart the client
Destination Thin Client
- Open the Software-Update in the Kommbox of the Client
- Click on "Update-Server settings" and put in the following information
- Protocol: HTTP
- Server: Source Thin Client (Hostname/IP-Address)
- Path: /update/
- Username: not needed
- Password: not needed
- Click on "Apply"
- Now you'll be able to install the packages which are available on the Source Thin Client
