The TCMS can be used in following environments:

- virtual machine (Vmware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix Xen, Oracle Virtualbox, and others)

- physical Appliance (x64 Hardware)

The installation of the TCMS with the various options is described in this HowTo.

For the installation of the TCMS, Rangee offers a ISO file, from which you can create a new VM, or a bootable USB Flash to create a physical device.

The TCMS is operated by the linuxbased 64bit RangeeOS operating system.

After the installation the first boot will guide you through the pre-setup wizard. In this stage the device will collect the serial number, unit type (unit name) and license information. Serial number and unit type are overtaken from bios settings. If these values are not set, please enter them manually. The license will be obtained from the Rangee license server. This machine is availabe in the internet, so please make sure, that the new TCMS can connect to the internet (Gateway and DNS should be set properly)

When you start TCMS for the second time, the setup wizard starts. The basic setting, such as language, keyboard layout, monitor settings or the (network) drive settings, is done during the setup process automatically.

After the setup process terminated, the device will reboot itself and start the desktop environment.

Further configuration of the RangeeOS can be made within the Kommbox from the desktop or remote from any webbrowser via https//ip-address.

It is recopmmended that the TCMS is available at a fixed IP Adresse. It is also recommended, that the TCMS should be reachable with the DNS name "defaulttcms".

Please refer to the thin client manual for further information ho to configure machine settings within the kommbox.
